Separated by just 25 kilometres of winding coastal road, Kaş and Kalkan are two of the Turkish Mediterranean’s most beloved holiday destinations. Kaş: The Bohemian Backpacker’s Paradise
Kaş is a small harbour town built on a hillside overlooking the Greek island of Meis (Kastellorizo). The old town is car-free and full of stylish rooftop restaurants.
Best for: Families, couples seeking luxury, villa holidays, food lovers, repeat visitors who value familiarity.
Accommodation: Private villas with pools are the main draw, typically £800–2,500/week. Boutique hotels and apart-hotels also available in the old town.
Beaches: The town beach is small and pebbly. Most visitors use the excellent beach clubs at Kaputaş Beach or the Kalkan Beach Park. Villas with private pools reduce the need for beach visits.
Activities: Rooftop dining is the main event. Day trips to Patara, Xanthos, and Saklıkent Gorge. Less nightlife but more refined evening dining.
